SUMMARY: Srirama ensured that all those
who had come with him were given their deserving-best worlds.
Srirama told Lord Brahma that each and
every being should be given the most deserving places. The deities, who had
taken birth as monkeys and bears to serve the Lord in the war against Ravana
were also given the best possible worlds in the heavens. However, some of these
deities did not discard their human forms. The reasons are discussed in the
following lines.
The twin deities of Nasatya and Dasra are
commonly known as Ashwini Devatas. Of them, Nasatya was born as Mainda and Dasra
as Vivida. These two had done penance and secured boons from Lord Brahma. They
had demanded with Brahma that they should not get killed by anyone and their
body should never look aged or elderly. After securing these boons, the two
brothers had become headlong. At that time, the gods and demons had undertaken
the churning of the ocean. Sri Hari took the incarnation of Dhanvantari during
the churning. Lord Sri Hari took the incarnation of Mohini to distribute the
Elixir among the deities and demons. The demons were not willing to allow
Mohini to distribute the Elixir. Someone had to protect the urn containing
elixir. The deities chose Mainda and Vivida to protect the urn. As the two
brothers had secured a boon from Lord Brahma that they could not be killed by
anyone, they tried to consume the elixir, unmindful of the deities who were
engaged in the war. The deities somehow saw them consuming the elixir but did
not object since they were deities too. However, since they had displayed
arrogance, injustice, dishonesty and disloyalty, the elixir enhanced their
demonic trait. Due to this demonic attitude, the two brothers were indulging in
quarrels. When the demonic mood was a little less, they joined the army of
Sugreeva during the Ramavatar and took part in the task that Lord Hari had
undertaken to reduce the burden on Earth by destroying the demons. When Srirama
was about to end his tenure on Earth, the demonic attitude in them exploded
once again. They did not join the deities who accompanied Srirama and they did
not die either since they had consumed elixir.
Vibheeshana, who was spiritually awakened,
did not join Srirama at the behest of Srirama. He became the chief commander of
the armed forces of Kubera. He will be living on Earth till the end of tenure
of present Brahma. He is living in Lanka, meditating on Srirama and protecting
the kingdom of demons.
Similarly, Angada, son of Vali, Kusha, son
of Srirama, did not join Srirama under the instructions of the latter. However,
they continued to live till they were able to install their heirs on the respective
thrones and returned to the heavens, where Srirama or Sri Hari blessed with
most deserving worlds.
Srirama completed the task of assigning best possible places to everyone and returned to the heavens. He started living in the heavens in one of his forms and is bei
ng worshipped by all the deities. He took another form to live in Satyaloka and in one more form Sri Hari started living in Shweta Dweepa. All deities, including Hanumantha, worship him here.
Rest in the next.
