Friends, here is one chapter in Yuddhakanda of Valmeeki Ramayana, where Maharshi Valmeeki has given a semblance of information, in Shlokas after 25, that Srirama was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and by inserting the description of the Great Disc, he has also established that there is no difference between Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. Hope you love it.

Desperate, dejected, depressed and despair Ravana went to the royal meeting hall like an infuriated lion gasping and heaving and sat on his super-special throne.

Mentally shattered by the death of his beloved son, very strong Ravana folded his two hands in saluting posture and told the chiefs of his army:

“Oh army chiefs, all of you go to the battlefield now with elephants, horses, chariots and armed forces. All of you surround Rama, launch a rain of arrows like it rains during the monsoon and kill him in the war. Or else, I will personally come with you to the battlefield tomorrow and in the Rama-Ravana war that unfolds, just as you will all be witnessing, I will inflict wounds on all parts of Rama’s body before killing him.”

As soon Ravana spelt his mood, the army chiefs, who were joined by different forces, started off from Lanka. A fierce battle broke out between demons and Vanaras. Demons hit the Vanaras with lethal weapons like axe, mace, spear, sword, pike, dart, battle axe, pestle and so on. In response, the Vanaras too plucked and pulled rocks, mountain towers and trees and threw them at the demons. The battle of demons and Vanaras that began at the dawn assumed alarming proportions as the day progressed. The demons and Vanaras were hurling strange maces, axe, battle axe, spears, trees, rocks, mountain towers at each other. With such a deadly and dreadful war happening between the demons and Vanaras, the dust that was earlier rising from the ground like a giant hill dissolved due to the blood that was oozing out of the bodies of wounded demons and Vanaras. It presented a very bewildering look. In the rivulet of blood that started flowing in the battlefield, the corpses of demons and Vanaras were floating like logs of wood in a river. Carcasses of elephants and broken chariots were looking like the banks of that rivulet. The arrows were like the fish and the tall flags like trees. The blood-wet Vanaras were leaping from one place to another and began plucking the flags, armors and horses of chariots from demons and destroying them. With their sharp tooth and nails, they were pulling the hair, biting the ears and noses of demons and scratching them. Like hundreds of birds throng a fruit-covered tree, hundreds of Vanaras were collectively attacking, torturing and assaulting the demons. In retaliation, the demons too were crushing and pounding the Vanaras with their heavy maces, axe, spear, dart and pikes and smashing the rivals into pieces.

Meanwhile, a few Vanaras, who could survive amidst the massacre of their fellow beings by demons, surrendered to Srirama, the ultimate shelter and shield of protection.

Instantaneously, most radiant and epitome of valor Srirama dashed into the demon army with his bow and launched a deluge of arrows. Like Sun can seldom be attacked, Srirama dashed into the demon army and started burning the demon soldiers into ashes with his fire-like arrows, even as none of the cruelest demons could confront him at all. In that battlefield, the demons could only witness the most arduous and dreadful deed of assassination of their fellow warriors. They could not see Srirama, the person, at all. Like the hurricane wind that uproots trees in forests remains invisible, none could ever see Srirama as he went on creating a tumult in the demon army and indulged in killing even Maharathi demons the demons were seeing their army being shattered into pieces and getting burnt and segmented by arrows. But, they were unable to see Srirama as he was involved in such a brisk action of setting, aiming and releasing of the arrows. As people cannot see the Almighty, the origin of all sounds and touch of sensory organs, demons could not see Srirama, who was hitting the demons with arrows.

“See there, he is killing the elephant mounted force. He is Rama. He is killing Maharathis too. He is Rama. No…No…he is killing the soldiers along with the cavalry and he is indeed Rama”, were the words that demons were spelling aloud at all corners. Whoever was appearing like Rama was being mistaken as Rama himself by the demons. Finally, the demons were seeing Rama in demons alone and as a result, demons started killing their fellow demons. Even though Srirama was burning the army of demons, none was able to see him anywhere. Later, by releasing Gandharvastra, Srirama lured all the demons in the battlefield.

Because of the influence of Gandharvastra, demons were seeing thousands of Ramas in the battlefield. In the next moment, they thought that same Rama was fighting with each and every demon separately.

Demons were able to only see the golden front portion of the bow of Srirama, which appeared to them as a rotating wheel of burning firewood torches. They were unable to Raghava at all. With Srirama incessantly destroying the demon soldiers, he was appearing like the revolving and rotating Holy Disc. The middle portion of the wheel was appearing like the elevation around the naval. The strength of Srirama was like the flames emanating from the Disc. The form of Srirama was like the spokes of the Disc. The bow was the edge of that wheel. Sounds emanating from the pulling of the string and the moment of palms were like the sounds emanating from the revolutions of the wheel. Radiation, wit and the shine were like the radiation around the Disc. The characteristics and impact of arrows were like the border of Rama in the form of the Disc. Like the subjects see the Wheel of Time at the time of Grand Destruction, demons were conceiving the mass destruction that Srirama had launched at that time as the great power and influence of Rama-like Disc. Single handedly, Srirama had destroyed ten thousand chariots that were as fast-paced as wind, eighteen thousand elephant-mounted soldiers, who could assume any form at will, fourteen thousand horsesm along with their horsemen and two lakh soldiers within the span of one-eighth of the day (before one-and-a-half hours of the noon) with his flame-like arrows. With such a large number of elephant-mounted, horse-mounted, chariot-driven demon soldiers having been demolished by Srirama so swiftly, a few of the remaining demons silently walked their way back into Lanka. With the entire battlefield covered with corpses and carcasses and broken chariots, it was appearing like the playground of enraged Rudra. Later, goddesses, Gandharvas, Siddhas and Maharshis, who all witnessed that astounding act, said “Very great Rama, truly great Rama”. At that moment, Srirama told Vibheeshana, Sugreeva, great monkey Hanumantha, Jambavantha, Mainda and Dwivida, who were standing close to him:

“Friends, this special Astra (arrow) is only with me and Lord Shiva. None else has it.”

Having displayed the gallantry that is only associated with Lord Indra, Srirama did not look like tired at all after setting and releasing so many arrows. Seeing such a mayhem unfolded by Srirama, all gods and goddesses praised and hailed him.

I wish to share this subtle information about Mahabharata. Although Arjuna was in the forefront and he killed all the giants like Bheeshma, Drona, Karna. But, it was only Bheemasena who killed all the 101 Kauravas in that Great War.
