SUMMARY: Lord Venkatesha,
who is adorned with the Divine Conch and Divine Disc, and surrenders unto his
feet, clears assures that whoever meditates his name and surrenders unto his
feet, will have the sorrow and miseries of family life only up to their waist.
They will be able to cross the ocean of worldly life quite easily.
It may be
recalled that in Ramayana, Ravana abducted Seetha Devi when Rama and Lakshmana
were away from the hermitage. However, holy Scriptures make it clear that the
woman abducted by Ravana was not the real Seetha but Vedavati, daughter of Fire
God, who was there in the hermitage of Rama in the guise of Seetha Devi. It was
for this reason that after killing Ravana, Srirama asked Seetha Devi to ‘prove’
her purity. Look-alike Seetha Devi decided to immolate. But in reality, Fire
God Agni needed a platform to return Seetha Devi to Srirama and take away his
daughter Vedavati. At that time, Vedavati expressed her desire to become the
wife of Srirama. However, Srirama told her that he would incarnate as Srinivasa
and she would then be born as Padmavati on Earth and that he would marry her
during Kali Yuga.
When Sri
Vadirajaru visited Tirupati, the entire Venkata Giri or hill appeared as a
large stone of Saligrama, which is very sacred. That is why, Sri Vadirajaru did
not want to walk on the Saligrama on his feet. It is said, he climbed the Venkatagiri
on his knees.
Sri Srinivasa
in Tirupati is one of the most popular pilgrim centres in the world. The
concluding stanza on Sri Srinivasa by Sri Vadirajaru will be explained in the
next episode.
