SUMMARY: I salute Lord Krishna River, whose sight
can instantly eradicate the negative energy (papa) of sins committed in crores
of previous births and create a tradition of positive energy of good deeds.
A railway station that exists at Bathara is about
nine miles from Satara Road station, which too is about 14 miles away from
Pune. Sri Mahabaleshwara is about 40 miles from Sathara. It is about 85 miles
away from Pune by surface transport. Krishna River originates from a mountain
in Pune. The spring that originates from a mountain appears like deluge,
initially and later it falls into ditch. Here there is a popular temple called
Sri Mahabaleshwhwara.
Immediately after the creation, Lord Brahma had
performed a sacrifice at Mahabaleshwara. Two demons named Mahabala and Atibala
tried to spoil the sacrifice, when Goddess Durga appeared in the form of Adimala
and killed, with her mystic power, Mahabala and Lord Vishnu killed Atibala. The
place was named as Mahabaleshwara following an appeal from Mahabala to that
effect.
Krishna River, which later joins the sea near
Bejavada, flows for 750 miles by joining Bheema, Tungabhadra and other rivers
on the way. It flows in the direction of west.
