After the
departure of Sampati, all the monkeys began announcing their individual
capacity to fly, while Hanuman was sitting alone, separately. He was praying in
praise of Srirama, when Jambavanta approached him. Jambavanta was aware of the
capacity of Hanumantha, which was incomparable. Jambavanta says that even
celestial Golden Eagle, the vehicle of Sri Hari, could not match Hanumantha in
flying capacity. Jambavanta appealed and motivated Hanumantha to take up the
task of crossing the 100-Yojana sea. Hanumantha then agrees to cross the sea,
see Seetha Devi and return, successfully.
It was like
Hanumantha performing a holy sacrifice with demons as the beasts to be
sacrificed. The adventure of Hanumantha was the fire and the benefit he wanted
to acquire was the grace of Lord Hari. He saluted Srirama, rook his permission
and blessings to fly, climbed the highest peak and got ready to fly.
