SUMMARY: On coming to the center of heart, aversion (Vairagya) to worldly desires develops; on the arrival at the Anther of the Lotus of Heart, dreams emerge; when Madhusudhana comes to the bottom of the lotus, deep sleep results; on his arrival at the stamen, the being is woken up again. In this way, Lord Sri Hari, wearing eight weapons such as Sudarshana (Divine Disc) and so on, travels in the abodes of the Monitors of Eight Directions (Ashtadikpalakas) and gives this type of wisdoms.

Lord Indra is the King of gods and goddesses and hence in his place, good and spirituous mind prevails; Agni (Fire God) is hot and in his place the sleep, laziness, hunger and thirst are prime traits; Yama is the head of hell and hence the being develops anger, impatience, stubbornness and violence; Nirruti is the head of demons and hence the traits of committing sins and blunders attack the beings; Varuna is the symbol of pleasantness and hence he induces joy, fun and entertainment; Vayu is always mobile and hence the traits of travelling and going to places develop; Moon and Kubera are the symbols of wealth, luxury and comforts and hence the being indulge in deceitful acts; Lord Shiva represents richness and prosperity, which promote philanthropy, donation and related acts.

SUMMARY: Sri Hari, who is the Lord of the Sutranamaka (named as the origin) Sri MuKhyaprANa, gets addressed by Gayitri and lives in our body. Unaware of this basic truth, people travel from place to place and pilgrim to pilgrim, along with wife and children, day in and day out, extoll and claim as undertaking continuous pilgrimage and feel proud.

This stanza clearly states that most people are unaware of the fact that the Lord is within and will never part from the body of anyone at any point of time, which has been explained very well by Lord Krishna in the Gita. People unnecessarily take up pilgrimages to far off places, along with their family and relatives, in search of the Lord who is everywhere, who is omnipresent. However, this stanza does not condemn or object to pilgrimage. What it condemns is the playful, fun-sake pilgrimage. Pilgrimage should not be taken up as picnic. It is a matter of utter submission to the Lord. At pilgrim centres, the Lord has a special presence especially because the idol of Lord is worshipped every day in the appropriate manner as mandated in Shastras. Gita Bhashya explains:
