SUMMARY: With highly distinct and diverse leaves,
different colours, the tree, this appeared like barricading the Sun’s rays or
the wings of the Vajrayudha of Lord Indra, the beloved of all Munis, that Tree,
Badari, was glowing like the beloved of Lakshmipati (Lord Vishnu) and son of
sage Kashyapa, Lord Garuda.
The comparison of Badari Tree to Garuda and then to
Shesha also indicates that after Lord Brahma and Vayu, only Garuda and Shesha
or Rudra are eligible to be intimate or close to Lord Vishnu.
Instances of Garuda nullifying the power of Indra’s
Vajrayudha have been mentioned in Mahabharata and Tatparya NirNaya of Sri
Madhwacharyaru.
In holy texts like Tatrasara, it is mentioned that
Garuda is multi-coloured.
The name Hari has ten meanings and it includes Indra,
Surya or Sun, among others.
