PANCHATANMATRA SANDHI/ಪಂಚತನ್ಮಾತ್ರಾ ಸಂಧಿ

182.      ಭೂ ಸಲಿಲ ಶಿಖಿ ಪವನ ಭೂತಾ-

            ಕಾಶದೊಳಗೈದೈದು ತನ್ಮಾ-

            ತ್ರಾಸಹಿತ ಒಂದಧಿಕ ಪಂಚಾಶದ್ವರಣವೇದ್ಯ|

            ಈ ಶರೀರದಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿರ್ದು ಸು-

            ರಾಸುರರಿಗೆ ನಿರಂತರದಲಿ ಸು-

            ಖಾಸುಖಪ್ರದನಾಗಿ ಆಡುವ ದ್ವೇಷಿಪರ ಬಡಿವ||1|   

            BhU salila shiKhi pavana BhUtA-

            kAshadoLagaidaidu tanmA-

            trAsahita vondaDhika panchAshadwaraNavEdya|

            Ee shareeradi vyApisirdu su-

            rAsurarige nirantaradali su-

            KhAsuKhapradanAgi ADuva dwEShipara baDiva||1||

SUMMARY: Lord Sri Hari manifests in fifty-one different colors in the five elements of Earth, Water, Tejas(light), Air and the Sky and their quality expositions (Tanmatras); he is present in all the bodies in entirety; he roams about in all the bodies and makes the deities and demons happy and unhappy, respectively. He destroys anyone hating him.

The Tanmatras or the qualities represented by thefive elements are the sound, form or shape, juice, touch and fragrance.

In the commentary (Bhashya) on “Tantrasarasangraha”, the fifty-one forms of Sri Hari has been elaborated.

  183.      ಪ್ರಣವಪ್ರತಿಪಾದ್ಯ ತ್ರಿನಾಮದಿ

            ತನುವಿನೊಳು ತ್ರಿಸ್ಥಾನಗನಿರು-

            ದ್ಧನು ತ್ರಿಪಂಚಕ ಏಕವಿಂಶತಿ ಚತುರವಿಂಶತಿಗ|

            ಎನಿಸಿ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡುಸಾವಿರ

            ಇನಿತು ನಾಡಿಗಳೊಳು ನಿಯಾಮಿಸು-

           ತಿನಗಭಸ್ತಿಗ ಲೋಕದೊಳು ಸರ್ವತ್ರ ಬೆಳಗುವನು||2||

            PraNavapratipAdya trinAmadi

            tanuvinoLu trisThAnganiru-

            dDhanu tripanchaka yEkavimshati chaturavimshatiga|

            yenisi yeppatteraDusAvira

            yinitu nADigaLoLu niyAmisu-

            tinagaBhastiga lOkadoLu sarvatra beLaguvanu||2||

SUMMARY: Sri Aniruddha form of Sri Hari, who is the manifestation of the paradigm (PraNava or the Omkara), exists in the three places in the body with three names and assumes fifteen, twenty-one and twenty-four forms and controls or monitors the seventy-two thousand pulses and being present in the sun’s rays, he dazzles in the entire universe.

The names of fifty-one motherly-forms (MAtrunamaka rupas), scholars’ explanation of Tristhana, Tripanchaka and Chaturavimshati concepts are elaborate and will be furnished in the next episode.
