SRI #RAMACHARITRYA MANJARI (ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೆಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿರಚಿತ “ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಚಾರಿತ್ರ್ಯ ಮಂಜರಿ”)

#Hanumantha launches the search for Seetha Devi in Lanka/
ಲಂಕಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹನುಮಂತನಿಂದ ಸೀತಾನ್ವೇಷಣೆ
One should not enter an enemy’s den from front door. Therefore, Hanumantha did not enter Lanka from the front door. He climbed the fort wall and jumped into Lanka. One should not keep the right leg first while entering an enemy’s errand and hence Hanumantha put his left leg first while landing inside Lanka. He entered Lanka when the demons were in deep sleep and Hanumantha felt like making that night’s sleep of demons as the last one.
Every single building in Lanka was multistoried and high like the towers on Mount Mandara. Hanumantha entered each every house and searched for Seetha Devi. Arrogant, adamant, unruly, wicked, capricious, sensuous, in disciplined and un-attentive demons of different shape, size were seen by Hanumantha in different postures. Some of them were doing romance with their wives, some were performing sacrifice, some were doing meditation and some were silent. The city vigilant force holding different types of weapons was seen throughout the city. Hanumantha searched the royal houses of Vibheeshana, Kumbhakarna, Shurpanakha, Prahasta and several other prominent demons. He saw the Pushpak plane.
Hanumantha felt that he had covered the entire length and breadth of Lanka, including the palace of Ravana, the apartments of queens and Mandodari. As he could not find Seetha anywhere, Hanumantha was worried for a while. When he had lost all hopes of finding Seetha Devi and was seriously contemplating on what would happen if he were to return without seeing Seetha Devi, it occurred to the mind of Hanumantha that he should once visit Ashoka Vana, the royal garden of Ravana. He climbed one of the tallest trees to locate Ashoka Vana. He began surveying the entire city of Lanka to locate Ashoka Vana.
The enchanting environs of Ashoka Vana at almost handshaking distance from where he was staying caught the attention of Hanumantha. He was fully excited to see Ashoka Vana.

SUMMARY: 1 Lord ShESha, the beloved of Lord #Hari, took birth on earth as Lakshmana; later, the spiritual deities of the Conch and the Disc namely Kama or the God of Love and Aniruddha incarnated as Bharata and Shatrughna, respectively. The elder brother of Lakshmana, whose glow was brither than that of Moon, was called as Rama (Ramavatar).
SUMMARY: 2 Lord Shesha, who was very much loved by the Lord of Universe Lord Hari, descended on earth first as Balarama; later, destroyer of all enemies Lord Hari, incarnated as Sri Krishna. Sri Krishna, who is brighter than Moon, was preceded by the incarnation of Lord Shesha known as Balarama (Sri Krishna Avatar).
In Bhava Prakashika it is mentioned:
ATha shanKhachakrajanma BharatashatruGhnatwEna areeNAm Bhaya- janma cha| tamamuShya LakShmaNasyAgrajam SreerAmamAhuhu| AmuShya SreekruShNasya cha|
During Tretayuga, when Sri Hari incarnated as Srirama, Lord Shesha took birth as Lakshmana. It must be noted that the incarnations of the Conch and Disc as Bharata and Shatrughna are mentioned after the birth of Lakshmana, which means Lakshmana was elder than Bharata and Shatrughna. During Dwaparayuga, when Sri Hari incarnated as Sri Krishna, Lord Shesha was elder than Lord Krishna, which is reflected in Sri Valmeeki Ramayana as well as Sangraha Ramayana.

SUMMARY: Sri Hari, whose forms are infinite, is present in all food items in the unbreakable form and in every rice grain, he is present as an infinite part that is breakable and thereby he gives satisfaction to the living beings. Consume food/meals with a firm faith and awareness of these two forms of Sri Hari, who is intrinsically not susceptible to breaching and discrimination.
In this stanza, two paradoxical forms of Sri Hari have been described. One is non-breakable and the other one is breakable.

“SuBhOjanapadArTha” refers to pure food items that do not include items that are forbidden or meant to be discarded.

SUMMARY: Oh goddess #Godavari, I have heard that whoever takes bath in your waters when Jupiter is in Leo secures special positive energy (Punya). But, I may not take bath when Jupiter is in Leo and ask you to drive away my sins and bestow upon me positive energy because, anyone taking bath in you at any time in life will certainly enjoy such benefits. Will anyone desire to have porridge or gruel in a marriage ceremony? I will seek higher benefits when you are in a pleasant mood. Please provide me with devotion to the feet of Sri Krishna and disinterest in family life and finally Moksha or Mukti or salvation in the world hereafter. You alone can provide me with these benefits as none else is capable of providing them, says Sri Vadirajaru in this stanza.

SUMMARY: May this Godavari River, who is called as Dhavalaganga at the point of her origin in the subtle Sarovar or Pond at the tip of Tryambaka Mountain, who gets called as Gangadwara in the midway and finally gets known as Kushavarta bless us with eternal happiness.
Impressed with the penance of Gauthama Muni, Lord Shiva sent Ganga from his head to originate at the tip of Tryambaka Mountain, where she appears in a small way as a pond and there she is known as Dhavalaganga. She later flows underground, without being noticed by the outside world. Subsequently, she appears at the bottom of Brahmagiri tower in the form of two ponds known as Varaha and Narasihma and these are popularly known as Gangadwara or the entrance of Ganga. Godavari again takes a secret route underground till
Kushavarta, where she is seen again. Gauthama Rishi controlled the flooding Godavari at Kushavartha with the Holy Grass or Darbha and sprinkled that water on the carcasses of the cow to bring it back to life. Kushaihi AavartyatE iti kushAvartA| Sri Vadirajaru visited all the three places and has described them.

SRI RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY’S SRI RAMACHARITRYA MANJARI (ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೆಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿರಚಿತ “ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಚಾರಿತ್ರ್ಯ ಮಂಜರಿ”)

SRI RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY’S

(ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೆಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿರಚಿತ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಚಾರಿತ್ರ್ಯ ಮಂಜರಿ)
Hanumantha sees Lanka/ಹನುಮಂತನಿಗೆ ಲಂಕೆಯ ದರ್ಶನ
A mountain called Lamba surrounds Lanka like a fort. Mount Lamba has very high towers. By the side of Lamba, there is another mountain called Trikoota. Hanumantha landed on the Lamba. Due to the force with which Hanumantha landed on Lamba, the birds in trees and nests and the animals living in the mountain felt a rude shock and ran to all directions in utter fear, anxiety and bewilderment. Some trees were uprooted and the flowers in all plants and trees withered. All these things appeared as though the relatives were honoring a person on some outstanding achievement.
Hanumantha shifted to Trikoota and surveyed all ten directions. He noticed the glittering Lanka from Trikoota. Lanka appeared as attractive and rich as Alakavati of Indra. Different types of forts, high-rise buildings, lakes, machines and wonderful parks had rendered Lanka into a very attractive city. None could dream of seeing Lanka. Hanumantha thanked Rama for blessing him with the capacity to fly across the ocean and see Lanka. The day was on the verge of closure and the dusk was imminent. Hanumantha thought that he should shrink his body to remain unnoticed by the demons and to enter Lanka. Moreover a giant body could create suspicion in the minds of demons about Hanumantha. With all these thoughts, Hanumantha assumed a tiny form and waited for the Sun to retire from the horizon. It was time when demons would be under the influence of intoxicants and therefore would not be alert about intruders. Any action initiated against the enemies during dusk would be more effective. Hanumantha, in his tiny form, decided to enter Lanka immediately after sunset.
When Hanumantha was about to enter, he saw a gigantic, ugly and powerful female standing in front of him. She roared at Hanumantha: “Who are you trying to enter Lanka without my permission?” Even before Hanumantha could reply, the female demon thumped the head of Hanumantha with her huge fist. Hanumantha recalled that he had just killed Sihmike, a female demon and was again being confronted by a female demon. Any person harmful to humanity deserves to be killed, irrespective of whether that person is male or female. Hanumantha lost no time in paying back Lankini with his left fist. Lankini lost consciousness and fell on the ground. As soon as she regained her consciousness, she folded her hands and told Hanumantha: “Oh Great Monkey! Welcome to you. Lord Brahma had told me earlier that when bad time sets in for Lanka, a monkey will forcibly defeat you. I know about you very well. Please pardon me for hitting you. Please find out Seetha Devi, wife of Srirama, in Lanka, without any hurdle.” Hanumantha thanked her and stepped into Lanka.

SUMMARY: 1. Kind hearted Lord, with a view to make the Ashta Vasus, Sun or Vishwamitra and other Brahmins, as well as the deities happy, he was born earlier in the dynasty of Sun, whose rays are hot; King Dasharatha, who had won battles in ten directions and was a wrecker of enemies, was his father (Incarnation of Rama).
SUMMARY: 2. The Lord, whose chariot had won all the ten directions, defeated the enemies and was the reason for securing huge wealth; such a kind God had earlier incarnated in the dynasty of cool-rayed Moon and had made Vasudeva very happy (Krishna Avatar).
Beginning from this stanza (19), upto stanza No. 34, Sri Narayana Pandit has described the incarnations of Rama and Krishna in great detail.
Sriramavatar and Sri Krishnavatar are two very long drawn incarnations. Both were Kshatriyas. Srirama governed the State while Krishna got the State governed. In both the incarnations, several problems arose and were resolved by the respective forms. Therefore, anyone offering worship and prayers to these two forms will overcome all the problems and realize their desires.
Srirama was born in the dynasty of Sun and therefore his birth was in the afternoon. Sri Krishna was born in the dynasty of Moon and therefore he was born in midnight.
In the case of Srirama Avatar, VasudEvamOdadaha” should be apprehended as making Vasudeva and other deities happy and in the case of Sri Krishna Avatar, he made Vasudeva happy.
Srirama Stuti and Sri Krishna Stuti in Dwadasha Stotra are as follows:

SUMMARY: Staying in the space(sky), Sri Hari, in his form as Vasudeva, provides opportunities, inside as well as outside. Along with Goddess Lakshmi, he moves around in five forms. Whoever understands that he exists in Brahma, Shiva, Indra and the entire animate world is the real scholar, philosopher and knowledgeable person.
As Sri Jagannatha Dasaru has used “RamAsamEta mALpanu” (does everything along with Rama Devi or Goddess Lakshmi), Sri Hari should always be remembered along with Goddess Lakshmi and her variant forms like Jaya and others.
