SUMMARY: Sri Madhwacharya, who is the most accomplished among those aware
of right cultural practices, woke up at the break of dawn or sunrise, completed
bathing and other routine duties, paid obeisance, hid his face within a red
silk shawl, sat in Yogasan posture and meditated on Parabrahma Narayana, the
embodiment of knowledge and other infinite virtues.
This stanza describes the routine of Sri Madhwacharyaru in the early hours
of every morning, when he was meditating on Lord Narayana. While the sunrise
time is appropriate for all people to wake up from bed, for Yatis, it is the
time to pay obeisance.

SUMMARY: The disciples were going to bed only after their Guru slept; they
used to wake up earlier than their Guru, serving their Guru till midnight of
that day with dedication, pleasure and commitment; how can anyone find the path
to salvation if a disciple does not serve his Guru with such devotion and
conviction?
The word Sugati means Sujnana or supreme knowledge as well as Sadgati or
salvation.

SUMMARY: One of the disciples could not wake up once at the appropriate
time since he was engaged in Shravana or listening or Manana or understanding
by going through the texts till late in the night; the master woke up earlier
than him, took the loin clothes and other essentials and swiftly went to have
bath. On seeing his Master do the duties on his own, the disciple repented a
lot.
In this stanza there is an example of how a Master should
set an example for his disciples. The master should be a model worth emulating.
The Master did not get angry on his disciple since the disciple had spent the
previous day, till late night, in listening and understanding and going through
holy texts.
