The impact of Rama Rajya/ರಾಮರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಭಾವ - V
Although this subject has been dealt with earlier, it is unending and eternally pertinent to say a few more words on how the subjects were feeling during the reign of Srirama. Srirama is said to have lived for 13,000 years on earth. He was looking after his citizens like his own children. Being an incarnation of Sri Hari, the people in the kingdom of Srirama were ecstatic. They had no dissatisfaction or unfulfilled desires. Surprisingly, none had any desire at all. There was no room to have desires because everyone was vibrant, active, productive and righteous. Since Srirama was keeping everyone happy, he was known as Abhirama. Since he is beyond the concepts of birth and demise, Srirama is also known as Anupamarama. Being charming and most beautiful and being the consort of Seetha, he is called Srirama. There is no scope for nostalgia in the life of Srirama or Seetha Devi because they are inseparable. They are Sri Vishnu and Mahalakshmi.
Everyone in the kingdom of Srirama was cultured and tradition-bound. No one was interfering in the affairs of others. None was jealous, angry, deceitful or hoodwinking. The kingdom of Srirama was synonymous of the Vaikuntha of Sri Vishnu and everyone was of the view that Srirama had brought Vaikuntha to the Earth.
Sojourn of Seetharama/ಸೀತಾರಾಮ ವಿಹಾರ
There is a taint in moon and the scholars consider that Moon is defective because of that stain in his face. There is no such stain in the face of Seetha Devi though some people compare the face of Seetha Devi with the full moon. Some poets are of the opinion that even if Moon succeeds in washing off the stain in his and faces Seetha Devi, the Moon will appear dull, pale and gloomy, compared to Seetha Devi. Can a fire insect be compared with Moon? Similarly, there is no comparison between the face of Seetha Devi and that of the Moon, say scholars.
Once, Seetha Devi expressed her desire to visit the forest. Although the trees and plants in the kingdom of Srirama were always green and bearing fruits and flowers throughout the year, the onset of Vasantha or the Spring season, which is often referred to as the Queen of Seasons, added a special aroma and charm to the evergreen forests. Honey bees were busy sucking the nectar from various fragrant flowers. As Srirama and Seetha Devi traversed through the forest, the pleasant breeze carrying the celestial aroma of flowers appeared to be offering a mystic welcome to the Lord and his wife. Some trees, creepers and plants shed the flowers and it appeared as though they were offering worship to Srirama and Seetha Devi. For that matter, Srirama is known as “Swaramana”. He is always happy. He is the origin of all happiness in the universe. He does not require any exterior source to become happy. Similarly, Seetha Devi does not require trees and flowers and fruits to become happy. Their sojourn through the forest, their mirth and display of happiness due to the celestial atmosphere was a lesson to humanity that Mother Earth has plenty of joy and peace for humanity and it only rests with the people to reap it and enjoy.

SUMMARY: Sri Achyutapreksharu, who had earlier developed unflinching faith and loyalty for the murky non-duality philosophy or illusionism or Mayavada, became ecstatic after listening the Madhwashastra like a person feels happy and blissful by drinking the Elixir after unknowingly drinking salty water.
After listening the Duality philosophy or the Dwaita Philosophy from Sri Madhwaru, Sri Achyuatapreksharu is said to have been fully convinced that the Illusionism or the Mayavada and other similar philosophies he had been following were ‘unreal’ and inappropriate and that Madhwashastra was most appealing, logical and ‘real’. The happiness of Achyutapreksharu was unbound and infinite.

SUMMARY: Jyeshtha Yati and Achyutapreksharu, who relied upon the shelter uner the sky called Sri Poornaprajnaru, began shining at the appropriate time like the Sun and Moon taking shelter in the sky, and started driving away the thick darkness that had masked minds of people by spreading the bright light of the correct theosophy. They did it by spreading the Madhwa philosophy day and night, incessantly.
The word ‘viyat’ means sky. “SusamayaprakAshanAt” means producing the bright light at appropriate time and also the dawn of good times.
Both Jyeshtha Yati and Sri Achyutapreksharu not only conceived the Madhwa Shastra but also began spreading it far and wide.

SUMMARY: Sri Madhwaru adored the ascetics and the virtuous with two Divine Discks, along with the celestial conch, which were naturally unwanted weapons that could prune the heaps of horrible sins.
There is a practice of wearing two symbols of Sudarshana Chakra and a Conch among Madhwa Brahmins on Prathamaikadashi and Vaikunthaikadashi through the seers of mutts. This is done by lightly heating the metallic symbols of Chakra and Shankha, which are two of the panchamudras or five mudras worne before performing the morning Sandhyavandana. The practice is called Tapta Mudra Dharana, which was initiated by Sri Madhwaru. It is believed that only those wearing these symbols are eligible to hear or study Shastras.
The word “Mahadara” in this stanza means “with great happiness and grace” as well as “Conch”.
“Sudarshanadwayam” means both “Two discs” and “Correct or proper philosophy or SachChAstra”.

RAMARAJYA/ರಾಮರಾಜ್ಯ - IV
Srirama asks Sugreeva and others to return to their places and look after their subjects/
AadityAtmajAdeen prEShya “SugreevAdeen swaswarAjyarakShArTham prEshya” ಆದಿತ್ಯಾತ್ಮಜಾದೀನ್ ಪ್ರೇಷ್ಯ “ಸುಗ್ರೀವಾದೀನ್ ಸ್ವಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯರಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥಂ ಪ್ರೇಷ್ಯ್” {आदित्यात्मजादीन् प्रॆष्य अर्थात् “सुग्रीवादीन् स्वस्वराज्यरक्षार्थं प्रॆष्य”} — Srirama sent Sugreeva and others to their respective States to protect their subjects.
Srirama honored Sugreeva and Vibheeshana with rich gifts, gems, diamonds and many other items. He expressed happiness and joy over the ‘assistance’ they had extended to Srirama in destroying the demons. He directed Sugreeva, Vibheeshana and others to return to their kingdoms and take care of their subjects. They prostrated before Srirama, saluted him by folding their hands and appealed to him:
“Oh Rama! Will anyone choose to take shelter under a palm tree while having shelter under the Coconut tree or Kalpavruksha that fulfills all the desires? We do not want to leave your feet and return to our States to protect our citizens because we will be involved in worldly affairs and our domestic chorus that lead to misdeeds. Please do not force us to return to our countries.”
Srirama replied softly: “You are both kings and the primary duty of every king is to protect his subjects. Discharging your bounden duty is service to me. Please return to your kingdoms and ensure that your citizens lead happy, peaceful and prosperous lives. That is as good as serving me and that is what I expect you to do.”
The duo returned to their countries.
King of Ikshwaku dynasty honored Lord Brahma with affection and compassion. Pleased with the considerate treatment, Lord Brahma presented a plane known as Sriranga Plane in which Sri Hari stays on Lord Shesha, the divine serpent. He is therefore known as Sheshasayi. Srirama gifted that Sriranga plane, that was being worshipped by all the precedent kings of Ikshwaku dynasty, to his dearest devotee Vibheeshana. On his return journey from Ayodhya to Lanka, Vibheeshana visited Sriranga Kshetra on the banks of Cauvery River. When he reached Sriranga, the Sun was about to set and Vibheeshana wanted to pay evening oblations. At that time, Lord Ganesha came there in the guise of a Brahmin boy. Vibheeshana handed over the plane to the Brahmin boy and asked him to preserve till his return. Vibheeshana went to the banks of Cauvery to pay oblations. However, Ganesha had put a condition that he would hold the plane till he could bear its weight. Whenever the weight of the plane was beyond his capacity to behold, he would call the name of Vibheeshana thrice and if the latter failed to return, he would put that plane on the ground. It so happened that Ganesha called the name of Vibheeshana thrice and since there was no response from the latter, Ganesha kept the plane on the ground and vanished. On his return, Vibheeshana saw that the place was lying on the ground and the Brahmin boy had vanished. Vibheeshana tried his best to lift the plane but did not succeed. He thought that it was the divine will and returned to Lanka. He is living in Lanka and he will be there till the end of this Kalpa.
Srirama summoned Sugreeva and said: “Dear Sugreeva! Please return to Kishkindha. Angada is still a boy. Keep him happy always. Look after your kingdom with passion and zeal. Finally, you may return to me along with the families of Sushena, Tara and other fellow beings.”
Sugreeva too returned to Kishkindha.
All the monkeys followed Sugreeva. A majority of them praised Srirama, saluted him again and again and departed with heavy hearts. Many of them were weeping and crying. They were unable to control the grief and nostalgia. Srirama took pity on them. He wanted to relieve their hearts from the pain of distress and despair. He entered their hearts like tiny moon so that they felt his presence till their last breath. He made them feel happy and blessed them all with sublime joy so that they had no feelings or thoughts of the negative side of family chorus.
Bharata installed as the Prince/ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಭರತನಿಗೆ ಯೌವರಾಜ್ಯಾಭಿಷೇಕ
YauvarAjyE Bharatam vyatanuta, meaning: “YauvarAjyE Bharatam vyatanuta”/ಯೌವರಾಜ್ಯೇ ಭರತಂ ವ್ಯತನುತ “ಯೌವರಾಜ್ಯೇ ಭರತಂ ಕೃತ್ವಾ”{यौवराज्यॆ भरतं व्यतनुत, अर्थात् “यौवराज्यॆ भरतं कृत्वा”}
This means, Srirama installed Bharata on the throne of the Prince.
Initially, Srirama summoned Lakshmana and said: “Dear Lakshmana, I am very much impressed and pleased with the service you have rendered to me since your birth. You have been following me like my shadow and doing great service to me. I have no words to express my pleasure and appreciation in this regard. Hence, I want you to be the Prince. You can have all the comfort, luxury and pleasure of being the Prince. You can forget the past sorrows, the pains you suffered and the misery you faced.”
Lakshmana politely replied: “Your Honor! It may be true that life in heavens or salvation is most pleasurable and it is the ultimate happiness that anyone may long for. But, I have no pleasure in these common posts. The happiness I get by serving you is inexplicable and I do not want anything else. Please do not deprive me of that bliss.”
Srirama was pleased with the devotion of Lakshmana. He embraced his younger brother
with compassion and love. He asked Bharata to become the Prince and installed Bharata on the throne of Prince of Ayodhya.
Srirama looked at the Pushpak plane that was still there. He told the plane: “Please return to your owner Kubera and come to me whenever I call you.” The plane flew back to Kubera.

SUMMARY: Like a doctor, Sri Madhwaru started identifying the real reason for Sri Achyutapreksharu to have developed distaste for Madhwa philosophy by clarifying all the doubts with appropriate and logical references available in the holy texts and explaining them skillfully so that some tenets of mysticism had settled down in the mind of Sri Achyutapreksharu.
Sri Achyutapreksharu could not instantly grasp and appreciate the theological explanations of the principles of duality as he was in the grip of several inhibitions. As stated earlier, some of the original texts had been either erased or altered or misinterpreted by different persons to suit their own explanations and theories. As Sri Achyutapreksharu was his Guru, Sri Madhwaru tactfully cleared the inhibitions.

SUMMARY: Like the divine swan drives away the crows from the Manasa Sarovara by frightening them by fluttering its wings briskly and by making horrid sound or noise, Supreme Swan (Paramahamsa) Sri Madhwaru drove away the indelible, fallacious and incoherent misconceptions from the mind of his Guru Sri Achyutapreksharu with his realistic principles of dualty by critically analsing the old doctrines in high tone and some times with furious expressions.
The word “YEkadruShTi” means crow as well as the philosophy of ‘non-duality’.
“YEkadruShTimiva kAkamiva rUpiNamaikyajnAnamiva cha” (Bhava Prakashika). “ऎकदृष्टिमिव काकमिव रूपिणमैक्यग्नानमिव च” (भाव प्रकाशिका).
Sri Madhwaru explained to Sri Achyutapreksharu the theory of duality he had established in his Bhashya by quoting, citing and interpreting exceprts from various Puranas, deftly.
“MAnasAt” means ‘ManasA’ and ‘manasaha sarahashrEShThAccha’ (Bhavaprakashika).

SUMMARY: Like the unstinted radiation around the Moon, fully blossomed Lotus and like the crystal clear water during the Shardritu, the mind of Sri Achyutapreksharu began shining with true radiation.
The mind of Achyutapreksharu had become gloomy and dull with the ‘misinterpretations’ and ‘misconceptions’ of theories he was ‘unquestionably’ following till Sri Madhwaru explained through his Brahmasutra Bhashya the nuances and fallacies in the old doctrines and by providing proper, comprehensive and correct explanations.
