SUMMARY: Sri Trivikramapanditaru of the Likucha dynasty, which had earned the respect and reverence of the then distinct scholars of all Mutts, who were well versed in all the Vedas and sub-Vedas, created a very charming fruit in the form of great poetry for the sake of virtuous travelers in the journey of acquiring divine knowledge.

A tree called Likucha that was being graced rare species of birds was producing delicious fruits at proper time so that the travelers passing under it could taste them, quench their hunger, relax for a few moments and continue their journey. The Fruit that is being referred to have been produced by Sri Trivikramapanditacharyaru is said to be UshAharaNa, an epic poem consisting of Nine Sargas or Cantos with seven hundred and forty-four Shlokas or stanzas.

Adhwaga means Pathika or traveler.

SUMMARY: When he rightly proved that the Mayavada or the Adwait philosophy was untenable (Durghata) since it was full of paradoxes and ambiguities, his master could not resolve the issue; yet, due to the force of his friends and fellow-students, he silently lent his ears.

This stanza indicates that Sri Trivikramapanditacharyaru was not convinced with the reasoning or logical establishment of the Mayavada even as a student of philosophy, at a very young age as he possessed divine analytical mind.

SUMMARY: When Narayana named Trivikrama, a nonchalant, eloquent person of great skills and knowledge emerged as a young person and dawned with the skills of deep knowledge of Vedas and Shastras, all the debaters such as Bhanu suddenly appeared like fire-insects.

As soon as Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Vamana and then transcended into the form of Trivikrama, stars like Sun and others lost their shin and started appearing like fire insects in front of Lord Trivikrama. Similarly, the then established scholars like Bhanu and others lost their shin in front of Trivikramapanditacharyaru.

Bhanupandita is said to have been an expert in a cult called Prabhakara. Although his name was Bhanu or Dinamani meaning Moon, in front of Sri Trivikramapanditacharyaru, he and so many others lost their shin.

SUMMARY: “Dear Child! Please listen to my words as I have studied everything, well perceived and analysed them! During Kali Yuga, worship of Lord, who is the embodiment of all knowledge and qualities or characters, through mysticism does not give you happiness. Therefore, meditate Sri Vasudeva, who is the epitome of all supreme qualities.”

There is a cult that describes Almighty as having no characters at all while trying to prove that Almighty has immeasurable, innumerable and infinite qualities. However, all philosophies of all ages have established that Almighty is beyond the describable qualities or characters.

SUMMARY: That couple of Subrahmanya Pandit and his wife gave birth to a son whose value could not be fixed by any of the audiences or the examiners in the townships where scholarly debates and deliberations take place among the most accomplished and acclaimed philosophers, of course, with the grace of Lord Hari and Hara.

Most precious diamonds, gems etc., are normally brought to cities for valuation. Similarly, to put a person mental dexterity, depth of knowledge etc., to test, assemblage of scholars is arranged in large cities reminiscent of the modern viva-voce for Administrative Cadres. In this stanza, the new-born baby is being described as the “most precious” son was born to Subrahmanya and his wife.

Two sons were born to Sri Subrahmanya Pandit and his wife due to the blessings of Lord Hari and Lord Hara. Therefore, the first son was named Trivikrama, name of one of the incarnations of Sri Vishnu while the second son was named Shankara, one of the names of Lord Rudra.

SUMMARY: Looking at the moon-like face of the new-born baby boy, who could enhance the pride and value of the family, highly knowledgeable Subrahmanya Pandit felt fully grateful to the Lord and to have achieved his most cherished goal of life, performed the prescribed traditional ceremonies to the baby boy and named the child as “Trivikrama”, a most precious and celestial name.

This “Trivikrama” later grew and earned the fame as Sri Trivikrama Panditacharya, composer of the most popular Vayustuti, which is recited by every Madhwa Brahmin, every day.

SUMMARY: Even a little child who could not speak clearly and was just stammering and spluttering, that son of Subrahmanya Pandit had become popular for composing subject-specific Shlokas. Doesn’t that Sun glitter at the time of dawn and clearly indicate his capacity to produce sparkling rays of light?

SUMMARY: By being in four material bodies, Lord Vayu every day does eighty-six thousand four hundred breathing meditation by being present in three types of lives, each day. What is the quantum of kindness that the foe of demons (Kharavairi) Srirama bestows upon Lord Vayu.

The Four material bodies refers to Swarupa Deha (body), Linga Deha, Aniruddha Deha and SthUla Deha. In each of these four types of bodies, Lord Vayu renders twenty-one thousand six hundred breathing meditations and therefore the cumulative number of breathing meditations Lord Vayu renders in four types of bodies amount to eighty-six thousand four hundred. No other deity performs this huge number of breath-controlling exercises each day. Lord Hari has assigned this stupendous task exclusively to Lord Vayu.

SUMMARY: The swift movement of Sri Madhwacharyaru, the remembrance of whose name itself enables people to cross the ocean of family-life and grants the path to salvation or Moksha, his sitting posture, extempore discourse could somehow be described by the deities. But, ordinary persons with least knowledge like me can never describe.

Being an incarnation of Lord Vayu, the movement of Sri Madhwacharyaru is appropriately described by the word “Marutatulyavega”; being the designate of next Brahma, his postures are beyond description, and having authored Sutrabhashya and other great works, there is no word to describe his communication skills, including oral. He was distinctly eloquent.

SUMMARY: His (Subrahmanya’s) wife, who was losing children delivery after delivery, who was a perfect match to her husband, who was his beloved, a devotee of Sri Krishna, with the sole desire to have a son, kept worshipping and serving the Lords of the Universe Hari and Hara.

The word “Hareeshau” means Hari and Hara or Shankara-Narayana. She must have followed a strict Vrat in a holy place dedicated to Hari and Hara. “Hareeshau” is a plural word and is indicative of the difference between Hari and Hara, which fact is further confirmed with the expression “VasudEvasUnubhaktA”.
