यत्र माध्वग्रन्थान् स्वबन्धूनिव सरसहृदालिन्ग्य विज्ञातभावः
सम्यॊज्यालन्कृताभिः स्वसहजयमतिसम्भूतवाग्भिर्वदूभिः।
क्रुत्वान्यॊक्तीश्च दासीः बुधहृदयगृहं प्रौढवृत्तीश्च वृत्तीः
दत्वाsन्यॊन्याभियॊगं जयमुनिरसकृद् वीक्ष्य रॆमॆ कृतार्थः॥१३॥
SUMMARY: Sri Jayatirtharu embraced the sacred works such as Bhashya of Sri Madhwacharyaru with affection as though they were his nearest and most intimate relatives. Further, he enquired about their welfare; having understood their emotions and the most intricate views hidden in those works, he decorated them like a bride with his inherent wisdom by using brilliant critical evaluation he was endowed with; he converted various other critiques and criticizers of the Bhashya and other works of Sri Madhwacharyaru into servants and attenders; he then set up a residence to that bride in his heart, provided her with the services of scholars in the form of his scholarly analyses and critical exploration that would serve the bride as a means of livelihood. Sri Jayatirtharu commented several times on the original works of Sri Madhwaru, explored and epitomized the correlation between those works and thereby attained satisfaction.
Sri Vadirajaru has likened the works of Sri Madhwaru to a bride and the commentaries of Sri Jayatirtharu on those works to decorative articles.
Sri Jayatirtharu is more popular as Sri Teekacharyaru, Teekakrutpadaru or Teekarayaru. A person who has studied and completely mastered Srimannyayasudha is considered to be an exemplary scholar among the Madhwas. Srimannyayasudha is a commentary by Sri Jayatirtharu on Anu Vyakhyana of Sri Madhwacharyaru.
He is said to be the sixth pontiff in the lineage of Madhwa Peetha after Sri Madhwacharyaru. According to a legend, Sri Jayatirtharu is an Amshavatara of Lord Indra and Sri Shesha Devaru. Originally, Arjuna, younger brother of Dharmaraja, was an Amshavatara of Indra and Shesha Devaru. After the war of Kurukshetra ended and YudhiShThira became the king, Lord Krishna returned to his capital city of Dwaraka. In the absence of Sri Krishna, it is said that once Arjuna boasted to be the lone destroyer of the Kuru Army. He did not mention the name of Sri Krishna because of whose presence, Arjuna could win against Bheeshma, Drona and even Karna. This momentary exhibition of ‘fake pride’ and ‘false vanity’ by Arjuna was criticized by Bheemasena by stating that Arjuna was behaving like a beast. Arjuna then regretted. However, he could not escape from the ‘beastly’ sin and therefore he was born as a bullock in Udupi during the life of Sri Madhwaru. Whenever Sri Madhwaru was teaching his disciples, this bullock used to be present. Once it so happened that Sri Madhwaru expressed his desire to compose Brahmasutra Bhashya and Anu Vyakhyana in front of his disciples. Each and every disciple of Sri Madhwaru felt he would be chosen by Sri Madhwaru to write or take down the commentaries spelt by Sri Madhwaru, who just smiled and said that the commentaries would be taken down by the ox that was sitting there, as usual. The enraged disciples are said to have cursed the ox to die of snake bite. The ox died of a snake bite a few days later. It is believed that the same ox was born as the fourth son of a subordinate king and his original name was Dondo Raghunath Panth and the surname of the family was Deshapande belonging to Deshastha Madhwa community. Raghunath Panth was an expert in riding horses and was endowed with a luxurious life.
Once, Dondo Raghunath Panth was trying to drink water from Bheema River by sitting on the horse back. Sri Akshobhya Tirtharu, who was camping on the banks of Bheema River saw this and asked him: “Kim pashuhu pUrva deehe” (Were you born as a beast in the previous birth?), which was coincidentally a fact. Raghunatha Panth immediately remembered his previous birth as a bullock and the days he had spent listening the discourses of Sri Madhwaru. This trivial incident transformed the life of Dondoraya Raghunatha Panth as he immediately renounced worldly life and became a disciple of Sri Akshobhya Tirtharu.
Sri Jayatirtharu is credited with twenty-two works. Of them, eighteen works are commentaries on all the works of Sri Madhwaru. The penetrative, extravagant, elaborate and highly scholarly works of Sri Jayatirtharu are authoritative.
He is said to have done penance in Yeragola Cave. It was during his stay in this cave that Srimannyasudha and other great works were composed by Sri Jayatirtharu. Yeragola is about one kilometer from Chittapura in Yadgir district. He is considered to be one among the three most revered masters of Dwaita Philosophy with Sri Madhwacharyaru and Sri Vyasaru being the other two. He was a contemporary of Sri Vidyaranya and Muslim king Fireoze Shah.

Killing of Lavanasura/ಲವಣಾಸುರನ ಸಂಹಾರ
Once, Srirama was having an interactive session with his brothers. A few Rishis came there and sought to meet Srirama. The Doorkeepers told Srirama that a few Rishis were eager to meet him. Srirama ordered that they be brought in with great respect and honor. Those Rishis had come under the leadership of Sage Chyavana, a descendant of Sage Bhrugu’s dynasty. They submitted to Srirama Kalashas, fruits and flowers, roots and other items they had brought from the forest area where they were living. Srirama offered gold seats and worshipped as per the prescribed pattern and requested them to order whatever they expected him to do.  
Like a man gets relieved of all physical and mental pain and agony after consuming the Elixir, the Rishis were relieved of all their worries after hearing the Elixir-like words of Srirama and happily shared their woes with Srirama:
“Great King, being omniscient, there is nothing in this universe that is unknown to you. However, at your behest, we wish to let you know the serious problems we are currently facing in our daily life. In a place known as Madhuvana, an asura named “Lavana”, who is the son of notorious demon Madhu, is living. He has been eating several Munis, their wives and children. By doing penance and impressing upon Lord Rudra, he has secured a spear from Lord Rudra. He has been troubling all the beings in the region with this spear. None of the deities is capable of subduing this demon because of the power of that spear given by Lord Rudra. We went in search of someone who could rescue us from this demon’s trouble. We went round the three Lokas but could not find a person daring enough to tackle this demon. We had come to our wit’s end. Fortunately, we came to know that you have just killed Ravana and his family and friends. We could immediately comprehend that you are an incarnation of Lord Hari and that you alone can rescue us from this enigmatic situation. Please save us, oh Lord.”
Srirama smiled for a moment and looked at his brothers to assess as to which of his brothers could end the life of Lavana. Lakshmana stood up from his seat and said: “I will kill that demon, my Lord.” Meanwhile, Bharata and Shatrughna got from their respective seats and offered to kill the demon. Shatrughna told Srirama:
“My Lord, my elder brother Lakshmana has served you in every way for fourteen years by accompanying you in to the forest. Bharata spent these fourteen years by sleeping on the floor and governing the kingdom in the name of your footwear. In a way, he wanted to impress upon you with that penance. Thus, both Lakshmana and Bharata had the opportunities to serve you during those fourteen years and I was a silent spectator. As I have been deprived of any opportunity so far to serve you, I request you to assign this duty to me. With your blessings, I am confident of accomplishing this task.”
“Besides, my father has named as Shatrughna, which means ‘one who destroys enemies’. If I fail to kill at least one enemy in my life time, my name loses significance. Therefore, please order me to kill Lavanasura and thereby make me worthy of my name.”
Please with this appeal, Srirama told:
“Brother Shantrughna, go and kill that Lavanasura. Later, you take charge of the kingdom of Lavanasura. I will perform the coronation for you as the prospective king of the kingdom of Lavanasura.”
Shatrughna replied: “Oh Lord, I am the youngest of all of you and I cannot become the king of any region. I would like to continue as your servant and I have no desire to rule any country ahead of my three elder brothers.”
Srirama disagreed and got the coronation of Shatrughna performed by Vasishtha and other prominent Rishis and Guru. Later, Srirama handed over an arrow to Shatrughna and said:
“My dear brother, I had carved this arrow when I was resting in my original form in cosmic Milky Ocean. I killed Lavana’s father Madhu and his brother Kaitabha with this arrow. This arrow the most powerful weapon and it can never fail to end the life of any target you set. After killing all the enemies, this arrow is empowered to return to your quiver. This arrow will certainly kill Lanasura.”
Srirama sent four thousand horses, two thousand chariots, one hundred elephants and several soldiers with Shatrughna for assistance. Srirama hugged his brother Shatrughna and filled his body with divine power.
Shatrughna saluted Srirama, Lakshma and Bharata, asked his army to go ahead and followed it, along with the Rishis. On the way, Shatrughna visited the hermitage of Sri Valmeeki and introduced himself as Ramadasa or servant of Srirama. Sri Valmeeki honored Shatrughna and started telling him the history of his hermitage.

Sri Satyatirtharu mentions in his “Madhwa Vilasa”:

There is another significant information provided by Sri Vadirajaru in his Madhwanama, published by the University of Mysore. More importantly, this information is given in Kannada by Sri Vadirajaru.
ಅಕಳಂಕಚರಿತ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿ ಬಂದು ಹಡಗದಲಿ ಶಿಖಿಸುತನ್ ಬೆಸೆದಿರೆ ನಿಂತಿತಲ್ಲೇ|
ಸಕಲಜ್ಞಮುನಿ ತನ್ನ ಪತಿಯು ಬಂದಿಹನೆಂದು ಸುಖತೀರ್ಥಗುರುಕರದಿ ವಸನ ಬೀಸೆ||
ಆ ವಾಯುಸುತ ಹಡಗ ದಡಕೆ ತರಲು ಆ ವಾಯುಸುತನಂಘ್ರಿ ಕಂಡ ಧನಪ|

The gist of all these writings is almost same. In his work titled “Madehwakathasudarpana”, Sri Bhagavatashyamacharya, in his “JayeendrOdaya”, Sri Karikehalli Srinivasacharya, Sri Vadirajaru in his “Avataratrayasuvvali”, Sri Chalari Acharyaru have elaborated this information.
It is stated in Puranas that the original statue of Lord Krisha was in the Saligrama Shile or stone and it was self-manifested reminiscent of the infant Krishna, as requested by Devaki Devi and it was later sculpted by Vishwakarma under the instructions of Sri Krishna and as desired by Rukmini Devi. This is further substantiated by Sri Raghuvarya Tirtharu in his Prameyamalika (Anumadhwavijaya). Sri Raghuvarya Tirtharu also mentions that Lord Varuna personally appeared in front of Sri Madhwaru and handed over the statue of Sri Krishna to him.

SUMMARY: Sri Narayana occupies the entire body; SanakruShaNa occupies the portion of the body from waist to feet; Sri Vasudeva exists in the portion from head to waist; AnirudDha and Pradyumna stay in the left side and right side, respectively. Anyone thinking in this manner is free from insanity and other spiritual restrictions.
Thoughts on these lines and having a firm faith that the Lord is in our body in different parts wearing different forms simply purify the heart and mind. When the heart and mind are pure, unassuming and unsuspicious, there is no need for anyone to follow restricted, orthodox life, no need to go on pilgrimage, no need to adopt strict and specific principles in life.

SUMMARY: Sri Padmanabha resides in the hands; Sri HruShikEsha resides in the mouth; SreeDhara is in the nose; Sri Vamana is in the tongue; Sri Trivikrama is in the soft skin; Lord Madhusudhana exists in the eyes; Sri Vishnu exists in the ears under the name of Sri Shravana.
SutraBhaShya explains this aspect clearly:

SUMMARY: Those great people, who think, with the grace and power of Lord Hari, that Lord Govinda is in the mind, Narayana in the Supreme Knowledge (Mahattatva), Keshava in the invisible principles (Avyaktatattva) are not human beings existing on earth but celestial beings indeed.
It is a common phenomenon that none on earth can ever entertain such broad thoughts. Those who do so are not ordinary human beings but deities born on earth for some strange reasons.
Dhanapa means Kubera and Dhanapasakha refers to the intimate friend of Kubera, i.e. Lord Shiva.

SUMMARY: This capital city known as Anegondi is extraordinary because in this place the elephants, which wore the globe-like philosophy of Sri Madhwaru, are aplenty and decorative.
This refers to the place where the most popular pilgrim for Madhwa community namely Navavrundavana exists. The Gajas or the elephants adoring the philosophy of Sri Madhwaru is believed to refer to some of the then acclaimed scholars of Madhwa Philosophy like Padmanabha Tirtharu and so on, who were often referred to as Ashta Diggajas or the Elephants which are bearing the Earth in eight directions.
Mythologically, Anegundi is believed to have been known as Kishkindha during Tretayuga. Kishkindha was the capital of Vali, who was killed by Rama, who made Sugreeva, the elder brother of Vali, as the king. The place is more poplar for being the birth place of Lord Hanumantha.
Anegundi or Anegondi in the local Kannada language means a pit of elephants. Historically, a tiny kingdom, which was to later expand into one of the richest and largest empires in the world history called Vijayanagar, was started in this place and it was the capital city of that kingdom. The remnants of a circular fort that still exist around Anegundi bears testimony for this fact. Anegundi is now on the opposite shores of Tungabhadra and hence connectivity is still a bit problematic issue.
The place is surrounded by a range of hills beside the river on one side. It is worth remembering this place on this auspicious occasion because the earth breaking ceremony for the long cherished dream of constructing a Srirama temple at the birth place of Srirama called Ayodhya is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2020. The day is more significant and auspicious for the fact that it was on the Dwiteeya of Shravana Masa Shukla Paksha in Varsha Ritu that Sri Raghavendra Swamy entered the Brindavan at Mantralayam.

SRI #RAMACHARITRYA #MANJARI

Srirama bestows a boon upon a dog/ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಿಂದ ನಾಯಿಗೆ ವರದಾನ
ಅರ್ತಶ್ವಗದಿತಕೃತ್ “ಭಿಕ್ಷುದಂಡತಾಡಿತಶುನಾ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಶಿಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥಂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿತಸ್ತದ್ವಚನೇನ ಭಿಕ್ಷವೇ ಕಾಲಂಜರಾಖ್ಯದೇವಾಲಯಾಧಿಪತ್ಯಂ ದತ್ವಾ”/Artashwagaditakrut “BhikShudanDatADitashunA BhikShushikShArTham prArThitastadwachanEna BhikShavE kAlamjarAKhyadEvAlayADhipatyam datvA”/अर्तश्वगदितकृत् “भिक्षुदंडताडितशुना भिक्षुशिक्षार्थं प्रार्थितस्ततद्वचनॆन भिक्षवॆ कालन्जराख्यदॆवालयाधिपत्यं दत्वा”
An ascetic thrashed a dog with a club. The dog appealed to punish the ascetic. Accordingly, the ascetic was made in-charge of a temple called Kalanjara.
Once, a dog came crying and appealed: “Oh Rama! I have come to you because you are the protector of those who surrender to you. Please save me.” The dog was walking on two legs and had folded the two front legs as a symbol of salutation. Lakshmana saw the dog and questioned: “Who has frightened you in the kingdom of Srirama?” The dog replied “I will open my cup woes in front of Rama only”. Lakshmana informed Srirama about the plea of the dog. Later, Lakshmana took the dog in front of Srirama. The dog saluted Srirama and stood in front of him. Srirama said: “Shed any confusion or fear. You can tell me boldly, without any hesitation.” In the kingdom of Srirama all animals could speak. The dog started telling Rama in a calm tone:
“Oh Lord, I am born in a very low and abusive specie of Dog. None can count the qualities you possess. Anyone praising your qualities gets affluent. None has the capacity to completely praise or enumerate your qualities. The kindness you show for downtrodden is infinite. Please hear my plight. I have been severely thrashed with a club by a saint called Sarvarthasiddha, even though I have not wronged him in any manner. Please bless me with your kindness and justice.”
Srirama summoned Sarvarthasiddha to the royal court. Srirama discussed with his ministers about the punishment to be given to the saint. It was not that Srirama could not take a unilateral decision, especially since the matter was very trivial. The dog saw Rama discussing the matter with his ministers and elderly people. The dog suggested: “Oh Rama, you may appoint that saint as the chief priest of the temple known as Kalanjara. That will be the most appropriate punishment.”
Srirama installed the saint on the position of chief priest of that temple and sent him to the designated temple on an elephant. The saint joyously accepted the appointment and went away.
The Ministers were confused and shocked by this honor to the priest. They questioned Rama on the propriety of the punishment. Srirama then turned his face towards the dog and looked at it inquisitively. The dog, which remembered its previous birth, replied: “I was the priest in this temple. I got this birth as dog due to the atrocities and misdeeds committed by me as a priest. Therefore, I wanted this saint also commit the same sort of crime or sin and take birth as a dog in his next birth on earth.” The dog retired to Kashi to do penance. The dog got rid of the negative impact of its misdeeds in the previous birth by undertaking a long and devoted meditation.
