SUMMARY: Sri Hari, Lord of inexplicable greatness, resides in the eight petals of the lotus-like heart, keeps roaming about in those petals and loads the minds of unruly people with insane thoughts; he loads the minds of righteous people with proper and worthy knowledge (Sujnana) and he keeps enhancing the spirituality, culture and tradition; being blemishless and an embodiment of supreme bliss, he balances and pacifies all beings.

SUMMARY: Lord Sri Hari draws the names of wealth, body, house, wife, heirs, friends and other animate objects, character, mind, wisdom and other senses for himself; in accordance with his self-imposed pledge, he indulges in all kinds of activities and gets all beings do their daily routine deeds. One should keep thinking of Lord Hari in this manner throughout life.
In this stanza, the poet ordains that everyone should think that whatever he or she does, thinks, acts and reacts is being done, thought of, acted upon and reacted by Lord Sri Hari. It is the complete surrender and an unwritten law that none is independent.

SUMMARY: May this holy city of Mathura, where an army of enlightened #Vaishnavas lives; where the recitation of the name of Lord Hari is a weapon; where there is a fort with protective walls are made of clusters of holy waters and where a dutiful servant wearing an armor that has originated from the worships offered every day to Lord Hari kills the Kali, who is filled with the six elementary foes such as desire, anger, deceit, passion, pride and jealousy, bestow upon us the boon of progress and prosperity.
Mathura, a name which finds mention in #Varaha Purana, #Padma Purana, #Naradeeya Purana, #Vishnu Purana and #Vanaparva in #Mahabharata, is also known as Madhupuri. It is mentioned in Padma Purana that the Vrundavana, which is in close proximity to Mathura, ensures Mukti or #Moksha or salvation by merely touching it once.
During the initial period of creation of universe, Dhruva, grandson of #Swayambhuva #Manu, got insulted by his step mother Suruchi. As advised by Sri Narada, Dhruva transcended to #Madhuvana, where Lord Hari was always present, performed rigorous penance and secured the Darshan of Lord Hari. PuNyam MaDhuvanam yatra sAnniDhyam nityadA HarEhe| (पुण्यं मधुवनं यत्र सान्निध्यं नित्यदा हरॆः।) is what has been said about this place. Later, a demon called Madhu established a city here called MadhurA or Madhupuri. Lavanasur, son of demon Madhu, started troubling the Rishis and the righteous and got killed by Shatrughna, the last brother of Srirama. Subsequently, Madhura became the capital of the kingdom of Shatrughna and his successors. During #Dwaparayuga, #Madhura formed a part of the kingdom of #Shurasena and his successors. Later, Lord Krishna incarnated here.
At present, Madhura is a railway junction where trains from Northeastern Railways as well as Central Railways stop. Besides, they stop in Madhura Cantonment station too.
Sri Vadirajaru describes Madhura or Mathura as a fort for devotees of Lord Krishna that cannot be shaken by any sort of enemy. Subsequently, Sri Vadirajaru describes Vishranti Teertha and the #Vrundavana which will be narrated in the next episode/s.

Each and every monkey held weapons such as trees, rocks and hillocks.  The Earth quivered due to the weight of the innumerable monkeys. Ravana waged the war with Indrajit from the western side of the fort; Prahasta from the Eastern side; VajradamShTra was directed by Ravana to attack the Vanaras from southern side while he jumped into the war field from Northern side. Srirama took note of the victory Hanuman had achieved over Indrajit earlier and therefore sent Hanuman to confront Indrajit. Srirama took it upon himself to confront Ravana from the northern side. Vivida and Mainda led the army of monkeys to tackle the eastern side of the fort of Lanka and Angada was given charge of the southern side, along with Gaja, Gavaksha and others. Sugreeva followed Srirama, along with a huge army. The number of monkeys was so large that there was no space on the land, on Suvela and Trikuta mountains and in the sky. Several monkeys climbed the fort; some monkeys occupied the terrace of houses of demons in Lanka. While large portion of the monkey army had crossed the bridge, many Vanaras were still trying to cross the bridge. Some were flying and some walking. The width of the bridge was not sufficient to carry such a large army. Some of the monkeys were born with the strength and power of ten elephants, some with the strength and power of one hundred, thousands and thousands of elephants. The number of bears under the command of Jambavanta was countless. The demon soldiers mounted on horses, elephants, chariots saw Srirama flanked on either side by Sugreeva and Vibheeshana; they saw the vast army of Vanaras and were terribly shocked. The monkeys, besides using the rocks and trees, employed their sharp nails and tooth, fists to smash the enemies. They covered the whole tunnel, which was very deep, that had covered the entire fort of Lanka, with mud. Ravana recalled that he had made several brave persons, gods, goddesses, Rishis and Munis fret and cry with his power. He now felt that the time had come for him to receive what he had given. After seeing the huge army of monkeys, considering the various facts that were enough proof of his invincible powers, Ravana, for the first time in his life, lost confidence.
The virtual war will be described in the next episode.

SUMMARY: This Narayana incarnated as Sri Dhanvantari during the Great Churning of Mount Mandara in the cosmic Ocean of Milk as a young, bright and vibrant person, wearing a pleasant smile on the face and distributed the Elixir, which the demons did not deserve, among the deities.
Sri Narayana wore the form of a youthful, spirited, charming large-breasted woman called Narayanee or Mohinee, tactfully took the Urn containing the Elixir (Sudha or Amrit) from the demons and distributed it among the gods, goddesses and deities.
It must be understood here that as Dhanvantari, Lord Narayana brought the Elixir and then took another form of Mohini, a charming young woman, to distribute the same among gods. In addition to the two incarnations of Dhanvantari and Mohini, Lord Narayana had earlier incarnated as Kurma or the Tortoise to wear the Mount Mandara on his back so that the mountain did not tilt or lose balance during the churning.
In the words “Varavilasineetanuhu”, “PrasamhatiprakaTeeBhavat” and “paramayauvanAkrutihi” the charming forms of both Dhanvantari, their youth and vibrant appearance have been described. In the case of Mohini form, the woman is said to have been displaying her youth through her large breasts that were crushing against one another.
Since the incarnations of Sri Hari are given separately in each stanza, a single stanza is being interpreed in these columns.

SUMMARY: “May this sacred Phalgu River, which, despite clearing the sins of several past births, thinks that she has benefited little to those who go to her from long distances, provide me with virtues such as being without false vanity or pride”, Sri Vadiraja appeals to the Goddess of Phalgu River about which there is mention in Mahabharata (Vana Parva).
Kalidasa, renowned Sanskrit poet and playwright, says “TyAgE shlAGhA viparyayaha”. Similarly, Phalgu River is known to clear the sins of several previous births. Yet, she (Phalgu) thinks that clearing the sins of several past births is very little. That is why the river has been named as Phalgu, which means “very little”.
According to another interpretation, Phalgu has very little water. During summer, water can be obtained by digging into the sand. This is perhaps the reason for the river being named “Phalgu”.
With the prayers offered to Phalgu River, Sri Vadirajaru completes his explanation of Gaya Kshetra from where he moves to Mathura. Sri Gurubhyo Namaha|

Angada conveys the message of Rama to Ravana/ಅಂಗದನು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಅರುಹುತ್ತಾನೆ
Initially, Srirama sought the opinions of Sugreeva, Hanuman, Jambavanta, Vibheeshana and others on choosing a person to convey to Ravana that the option of alliance was still open. Ravana could still surrender Seetha Devi and shut the doors of war or battlefield, which would immensely benefit both sides. As suggested by Vibheeshana, Srirama sends Angada as the messenger. Angada easily jumped across the walls of the fort of Lanka, briskly entered the house of Ravana and saw the demon king engaged in a serious discussion with his ministers. As Ravana did not even offer a seat for Angada, he spiraled his tail to a high level and sat on it. The fierce face and the manner in which Angada sat on a higher place than himself, Ravana became very angry and asked:
“Oh Monkey! Who are you? Where have you come from?”
Angada: Have you forgotten Vali? I am his son and my name is Angada. When I still an infant, my father had given you as an object to play with. Do you know about the husband of Seetha you have stealthily brought? With a wink of his eyes, he made the entire sea become stagnant and still. I have as a messenger of such a powerful person whose name is Srirama. I am going to convey to you the message he has sent to you. Srirama is ready to fire series of sharp arrows at you. However, he has given you two options to choose from. I am going to narrate the details now.
“Oh Ravana, you confiscated the Pushpak plane of your elder brother Kubera and troubled him in several ways. You have killed hundreds of Brahmins. You have spoiled innumerable virgins and married women. The sins committed by you are now unlimited and unpardonable. It is time for you to get punished for your sins.
Oh Ravana, certainly, you have become very weak now.  That is why, you stole Seetha from my Ashram, when I was not present. As a token of repentance for the heinous act committed by you, surrender Seetha to me. I will pardon you, once you fall at my feet.
If you are unwilling to surrender, none will force you to do so. Enjoy as much as possible within as short a time as possible because you will soon die. You cannot imagine the swiftness of my arrows in taking away your life. You will soon be securing an eternal sleep.”
The direct speech of Rama to Ravana pronounced by Angada infuriated Ravana to a very great extent. He was trembling with anger. His eyes turned red and his face was burning. He yelled: “This monkey is talking beyond limits. Catch it and kill it.”
A few demons rushed towards Angada, caught him by his two legs tightly and before they could do anything else, Angada sprang up along with all the demons who were holding him tightly. Angada rotated all the demons even as they were clinging to his legs and suddenly shook his legs. All the demons fell flat on the earth, dead. Angada destroyed the house of Ravana and made him distressed before returning to Rama.
