Srirama listened to the narration rendered by Sage Agastya, completed the oblations of the evening, spent a night there and in the early hours of next dawn, he told the sage: “Great Sage Agastya, you have purified me by narrating the history of this hermitage and by seeing you. I may see you frequently in the future and get purified.”

Tears of joy started flowing from the eyes of Sage Agastya, who replied, in a choked voice: “Oh Lord Rama, you are the Lord of entire universe and everyone gets purified by remembering your name each day. Even those hearing your name spelt by someone else gets relieved from sins. There is no sin that your name cannot remove. There is no question you getting purified. On the contrary, you have purified me and my associates here. I request you to keep visiting this hermitage often and purify me. I have not narrated anything that is unknown to you.”

Srirama took the permission of sage Agastya and returned to Ayodhya in the Pushpak plane. After reaching Ayodhya, he told the plane “Do come whenever I require” and sent it back to Kubera.

Mal propaganda by Suranakas

There was community called Suranakas among demons. They were very strong and powerful. Moreover, they did severe penance for thousands of years and impressed Lord Brahma, who appeared in front of them and sought to know the boon they wanted him to give. The Suranakas demanded: “We should be assured of Moksha or salvation, notwithstanding the severity of the sins committed by us. Being the embodiment of innumerable qualities, you must bestow upon us this boon.”

Lord Brahma replied: “Overdrinking of liquor, spoiling the modesty of women, killing of Brahmins and so on may not snatch the positive energy in you. On the contrary, your desire to perform good acts will increase and you may finally get salvation. However, you should never try to separate Sri Narayana from Rama Devi. Once you do that, all the positive currents will get destroyed and you will not earn salvation.”

The Suranakas pondered over the words of Brahma. It was their inherent trait to separate Sri Narayana from Rama Devi. However, with the ruling by Lord Brahma, they were shocked. They could not foresee when they might commit such dangerous sin. They decided to immediately descend on earth and earn positive vibrations through philanthropy, performance of sacrifices and other good acts in advance. They wanted the positive energy earned by them should overweigh the negative energy earned through heinous acts; they would naturally indulge in committing.

Meanwhile, Seetha Devi thought: “These demons are not indulging in good acts and earning positive energy (PuNya) with any good intention. By birth they are an apology for human values and social welfare. Their natural attitude is to separate me from Sri Narayana, to torture the righteous and wreak havoc among good people, sages and Rishis. Their association with good people is pretentious. They do not deserve salvation. I will see that they fail in their mission.”

It should be kept in mind that Sri Narayana incarnated as Srirama and Rama Devi as Seetha Devi. They are inseparable and eternal. Anyone disturbing their integrity cannot earn salvation. The awareness of the supremacy of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi was an acquisition through deceitful means. Their association with the virtuous was unnatural. Their knowledge of the Divine and Divinity was lopsided, corrupt and laced with deceit. For them, Srirama was just a super human being and Seetha Devi an ordinary, charming prince/queen. There are bound to be some people gaining comprehensive knowledge through their association with knowledgeable. However, such people have no proper insight into the supremacy of Lord Vishnu. They spread mysticism to mislead society. Seetha Devi is in-charge of their half-baked, fake knowledge. For Suranakas, as said earlier, Srirama was an ordinary human being and Seetha Devi an ordinary woman. Ravana had abducted Seetha Devi and Rama could not see her until the death of Ravana. Suranakas imagined ‘filthy’ stay of Seetha in the confinement of Ravana. They thought that Seetha Devi could have ‘slipped’ during her confinement into the ‘sensuous designs’ of Ravana. They doubted whether Rama had any ‘shame’ to accept Seetha Devi even a year she had spent with Ravana, who was lusty, zealous, greedy and capricious.

There was nothing that Rama was unaware of. Still, he summoned a spy named Bhadra and asked him to know what people were talking about him and Seetha Devi. Bhadra, after a few days, reported: “Oh Lord, people are whispering among themselves that Ravana had forcibly carried Seetha Devi on his lap to Lanka and kept her in Ashokavana, which was his exclusive, private garden. People say that Seetha Devi was very much in the clutches of Ravana and that you have no muscularity to discard Seetha Devi on this count. People are of the view that when Rama, the king, was following such suspicious practices, they would not be at fault if they were to follow similar principles."

At the feet of Sri Hari/ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯ ಪದತಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುಪಾದರು

ಸಹಭೋಗಮನನ್ಯಲಭ್ಯಮಸ್ಮೈ ಹನುಮದ್ರೂಪವತೇ ದದೌ ಪುರಾ ಹಿ|

ಅನವೇಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಪರಂ ಸ್ವಭೀಷ್ಟಕರ್ತ್ರೇ ಪ್ರತಿದಾತುಂ ಹರಿರೈಧಯತ್ ತಮೇವ||54||

SahaBhOgamananyalaBhyamasmai HanumadrUpavatE dadau purA hi|

AnavEkShya param swaBheeShTrakartrE pratidAtum HariraiDhayat tamEva||54||

सहभॊगमनन्यलभ्यमस्मै हनुमद्रूपवतॆ ददौ पुरा हि।

अनवॆक्ष्य परं स्वभीष्टकर्त्रॆ प्रतिदातुं हरिरैधयत् तमॆव॥५४॥

SUMMARY: Highly pleased with Sri Madhwaru for translating his desire into reality, Sri Vedavyasaru, who could not find anything around to award Sri Madhwaru with something worthy, rewarded Sri Madhwaru with something that none else can ever dream of but was reminiscent of what the Lord had presented his beloved disciple and devotee Sri Hanumantha during his incarnation as Srirama; Sri Vedavyasaru hugged Sri Madharu with adoration, affection and joy and gave him the post of Brahma.

Composing Bhashya to Brahmasutras is considered to be equal to the crossing of the ocean, finding Seetha Devi, destruction of Ashokavana, setting Lanka on fire, presenting the Choodamani (Precious stone) and bringing the Sanjeevana Mountain that Sri Hanumantha had accomplished during Tretayuga. Please with all those tasks that Hanumantha had accomplished, Srirama, who was still in forest exile, also hugged Hanumantha, a very distinct honor that Sri Hari makes to anyone. The post of Brahma is next only to Lord Narayana and Goddess Lakshmi Devi. Sri Hanumantha, Sri Bheema and Sri Madhwaru are incarnations of Lord Vayu, who will succeed the present Brahma and Lord Hari embracing Sri Hanumantha and Sri Madhwaru is symbolic of the fact that the present Lord Vayu would ascend the throne of Brahma.

Conclusion of the second journey to Badari/ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಬದರೀಯಾತ್ರೆಯ ಪರಿಸಮಾಪ್ತಿ

ಪ್ರಣಮ್ಯ ಗುರುಮಾದರಾದಥ ನಿಯೋಗತೋ ಯೋಗ್ಯತಃ

ಸ ತಸ್ಯ ಜಗತಾಂ ಹಿತಂ ವಿದಧತೋ ಗತಃ ಸಾನುಗಃ|

ಮಹಿಷ್ಠಹೃದಯೋ ಮಹಾಮಹಿಮಸಿಂಧುರಾನಂದತೋ

ನಿಜೈರಭಿಗತೋsನಮದ್ರಜತಪೀಠವಾಸಂ ಹರಿಮ್||55||

प्रणम्य गुरुमादरादथ नियॊगतॊ यॊग्यतः स तस्य जगतां हितं विदधतॊ गतः सानुगः।

निजैरभिगतॊsनमद्रजतपीठवासं हरिम्॥५५॥

SUMMARY: Sri Madhwacharyaru, an ocean of greatness and an epitome of all fields of knowledge, saluted Guru Sri Vedavyasaru with hearty devotion and as per his orders that he alone deserved and that was beneficial to the universe, returned, along with the disciples, to Udupi to a roaring welcome by the public and saluted Sri Hari, who presided there in the form of Sri Anantasana.

More details of the second sojourn of Sri Madhwaru to Badari are mentioned in Chapter X. The second visit to Badari by Sri Madhwaru is highlighted in Sri Vayustuti as well:

179.      ಕರಣ ಗುಣ ಭೂತಗಳೊಳಗೆ ತ-

            ದ್ವರರೆನಿಪ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾದಿಜೀವರೊ-

            ಳರಿತು ರೂಪಚತುಷ್ಟಯಗಳನುದಿನದಿ ಸರ್ವತ್ರ|

            ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತನುಮೋದಿಸುತ ಹಿಗ್ಗುತ

            ಪರವಶದಿ ಪಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ತ-

            ನ್ನಿರವ ತೋರಿಸಿ ಭವವಿಮುಕ್ತರ ಮಾಡಿ ಪೋಷಿಸುವ||33||

SUMMARY: Sri Hari appears in person and relieves such devotees from the cycle of birth and death who firmly believe that Sri Hari is present in the sensory organs, spirit and other traits, the five elements, Brahma and other deities, who are in the higher strata, in the four forms such as Sri Vasudeva and other forms, and remember him each day and everywhere, approve him, feel happy and sing in his praise with utmost dedication.

            ನಾಳದೊಳು ವದನದಲಿ ಭಾರ್ಗವ

            ವಾಲಿಭಂಜನ ಹಸ್ತದಲಿ ಪಾದದಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣ||34||

SUMMARY: Sri Narayana, the original form of Sri Hari, is present in the mind, Matsya and Kurma (Fish and Tortoise) are present in the ears; Varaha (bear) is in the skin; Narasihma is in the tongue; young Brahmin Boy Sri Vamana is in the nostrils; Parashurama is in the mouth; killer of Vali Srirama is in the palm and Srikrishna is in the feet.

 

181.      ಜಿನವಿಮೋಹಕ ಬುದ್ಧ ಪಾಯುಗ

            ದನುಜಭಂಜನ ಕಲ್ಕಿ ಮೇಢ್ರದಿ

            ಇನಿತು ದಶ ರೂಪಗಳ ದಶ ಕರಣಂಗಳಲಿ ತಿಳಿದು|

            ಅನುಭವಿಪ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ-

            ರ್ಪಣವೆನಲು ಕೈಕೊಂಬ ವೃಜಿನಾ-

            ರ್ದನ ವರಜಗನ್ನಾಥವಿಟ್ಠಲ ಕಾಯ್ವಕರುಣದಲಿ||65||

            JinavimOhaka BudDha pAyuga

            danujaBhanjana Kalki mEDhradi

            initu dasha rUpagaLa dasha karaNangaLali tiLidu|

            AnuBhavipa viShayagaLa kRuShNA-

SUMMARY: The most charming form of Lord Buddha is in the anus and Lord Kalki in the penis; everyone should think that Sri Hari is present in different parts of the body in his forms of ten incarnations, surrender the actions of each of these organs or places to Lord Hari by saying Sri Krishnarpanamastu; then, destroyer of sins and supreme Lord Sri Jagannatha Vitthal acknowledges such submission and protects the devotees with kindness and compassion.
